OnLive Being Targeted By Microsoft for ‘Windows Remote Virtualization Licensing’: "Ever since OnLive has launched the Windows Desktop application for iOS and Android, some have speculated whether or not the app, hosting Windows 7 and Microsoft Office virtually, was in violation of Microsoft’s virtual licensing terms.
While nothing has been heard from OnLive’s side yet, Microsoft has made an official statement. In a blog post by Joe Matz, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of Worldwide Licensing and Pricing, on TechNet, he states that: ”We are actively engaged with OnLive with the hope of bringing them into a properly licensed scenario, and we are committed to seeing this issue is resolved.”
If you’re unfamiliar with OnLive’s Desktop application, it basically runs Windows 7 on an iPad or Android tablet, allowing access to the full version of Microsoft Office even if said software has not been purchased by the user."
